Extensive and diverse experience as college educator, fine arts professional, commercial, medical and scientific photographer.  Professional expertise in photographing and documenting events, instruction of material and equipment use, management and archiving of collections, networking and problem solving, board development, fundraising, community outreach, grant writing and ad design.  Known for creativity, outgoing friendliness in working with others, high standards of quality, resourcefulness and sensitivity as a teacher.

 

 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

•   Created and taught photography curriculum, maintained department budgets, ordered equipment and supplies

 

  • Instructed students and teaching staff in use of photographic materials, cameras, studio and office equipment, and digital programs

 

  • Managed all aspects of chemical darkroom, including film processing, printing photographs, maintaining processors, and ordering supplies.  Coordinated outside lab sources

 

  • Created digital images and translated images to digital files for use on web sites and electronic transmission.  Manipulation and combining of images digitally using Photoshop

 

  • Interfaced with scientists, staff and patrons assisting in research of materials and information for projects, creating 3-D images, creating mosaic images from thin sections, image processing

 

  • Created and maintained art displays at the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and installed exhibits at Firehouse Gallery for Houston Women’s Caucus for Art and in other public spaces

 

  • Photographed and recorded events and personnel; Created and maintained an archive of reference material for publications and websites

 

  • Assisted in educational outreach programs including gathering of materials, instruction of use of material and brainstorming for new ideas in learning and outreach
